The addition of CSL to the already legendary E46 M3 is not just cosmetic. While the distinctive front bumper, rear trunk, and wheels catch the eye, the true refinement runs deeper. Carbon fiber has been judiciously used in the roof and extensive interior components, shedding an impressive 110kg of weight. Other enhancements, such as different exhaust manifolds, camshafts, steering ratio, dampers, springs, and brakes, transform the M3 CSL into an extraordinary sports car.
Driven as Intended
BMW E46 M3 CSL in “Silber-Grau”
A BMW M3 is not typically handled with kid gloves, and unfortunately, the limited production run of 1383 CSLs means that many have never ventured into the upper reaches of the tachometer. This is regrettable, especially considering the spine-tingling induction sound produced by the special carbon airbox. The owner of this CSL has embraced the true spirit of BMW's design, a sentiment we applaud.
After years of track days and spirited weekend drives, the CSL was due for a well-deserved spa treatment. We applied our basic technical cleaning process, and the results were evident! The accumulated track miles eagerly washed away, leaving the car refreshed.
We meticulously polished the paint in two stages and applied a durable paint sealant. The carbon fiber dive planes on the front bumper were sanded and given a fresh clear coat, effectively eliminating most of the stone chips. Beyond the mechanics and exterior, we brushed the alcantara and polished the carbon interior components. We hope the owner is now less hesitant to embrace a little dirt on the car!
